Gluten-free foods are all the rage these days, but the disease that spawned America’s latest dietary trend goes largely undiagnosed, according to a new study.

Researchers from the Mayo Clinic found that 1.4 million of the estimated 1.8 million Americans with celiac disease are unaware that the gut pain associated with consuming wheat, rye and barley-based products is actually due to celiac disease.
