Get what you Need
Specialized Health Care
We specialize in tailoring treatments to the specific needs of each individual. We strive to empower patients to take positive steps towards healing through each phase of care. Therapies promote healing on all levels–physical, emotional and spiritual–and treat the cause of disease rather than simply manage symptoms.
We know that if you are not familiar with a holistic approach toward your health, you will have questions. Whether we choose a treatment plan that involves acupuncture, naturopathic medicine or nutritional shifts, we will make sure that we are integrating the best methods to fit your needs, wants and capacities.
Mika Bassett, ND, LAc, MSOM, DiplAc
Dr. Mika lives with her family in Sandpoint where they enjoy spending time outdoors, and together pastor a growing church north of town.
Dr. Mika Bassett was raised in Portland, Oregon, and graduated cum laude in psychology from University of Puget Sound. Her studies included an emphasis in exercise physiology and pre-medical sciences. After graduation, she moved to Colorado to teach skiing and work as a physical therapy aide, where she became an avid mountain biker and developed a growing interest in natural, whole-person wellness.
Recognizing her passion for natural medicine and a holistic approach to healing, Dr. Mika completed a four-year doctoral program in naturopathic medicine, and is a licensed naturopathic physician (ND). While attending naturopathic medical school, Dr. Mika became inspired both by an introductory course in Chinese Medicine, as well as through her own experience of the effectiveness of acupuncture and qi gong (a Chinese medical healing art similar to tai ji). She went on to complete a four-year Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) program and is a licensed acupuncturist (LAc).
